I have to hand it to a self-righteous Congressman. While the majority of the Web-Sleuthing internet community is trying to solve crimes AGAINST VICTIMS, Congressman Tom Lantos (D-Calif.) says, 'LET'S PLAY BALL'!

Every once in a while there comes a Congressman so out of touch with reality that I have to step back and wonder to myself ~ What the heck is this guy smoking?

California Congressman calls for strong, swift action to QB Vick.

A California congressman has joined the cause against Michael Vick, firing off a letter Friday that urged NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to "act swiftly and forcefully" if the Atlanta Falcons quarterback was involved in dog fighting on his former property. U.S. Rep. Tom Lantos (D-Calif.) pointed out that he's a senior member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which two years ago held highly publicized hearings on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in professional sports.

Lantos raised the prospect of government intervention if the NFL fails to discipline Vick.

"I am OUTRAGED that one of the National Football League's superstars is affiliated with such a heinous enterprise," Lantos wrote.

Last month, police raided a Virginia home owned by Vick and allegedly found evidence of a major dog-fighting operation, including dozens off malnourished and injured dogs. The quarterback has denied any wrongdoing, and no criminal charges have been filed against him.

Congressman Lantos where was the outrage when you went to the Netherlands? Did you forget there was a missing and presumed murdered American Citizen and her Family caught in the middle of an huge International problem?

I know Congressman Lantos, you only care about the young people that might get caught up in a steroid scandal or might look to Michael Vick to start their own dog-fighting ring. Such the hypocrite.

Your self righteous indignation leaves me wanting to puke. It's the same feeling I had when your colleague Congressman Spencer Bachus (R- 6 District Alabama) left his cryptic droppings all over the hallway of the House.

I know, there are more important things to address. Like Baseball.

It's a shame when Citizens are subjected to such poor leadership that they have to write about what a total and complete failure you are. I know Natalee is not as important as destroying a war effort by 110,000 of America's finest and bravest men and women. Baseball, Football, Steroids and Dogfighting get your undying attention and really gets your blood boiling huh?

Congressman Lantos did you get all hot under the collar and deliver the same stern warning to the Politicians when you visited the Hague?

February 26, 2007 U.S. Congressman Tom Lantos, the Chairman of the House International Relations Committee, visited The Hague, primarily to consult with Dutch officials about foreign policy issues.
In the photo Congressman Lantos gives an interview to Dutch television news program "EenVandaag" ("Channel 1 Today"). The interview was broadcast on Wednesday, February 28, 2007.

That was from a post I made 3-1-2007. Congressman Lantos had the opportunity to hand deliver a message from the American People, and took a pass. And it wasn't from Quarterback Michael Vick.

It's always a relief to see where a Politician's TRUE alliance lies. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Lantos to help anyone but himself.

One last comment Congressman Lantos. Will you call for a Government Intervention in Natalee Holloway's case? What about all the others that are missing and presumed dead on Aruba? Is this not matter of safety? Is this not a real reason to get an inquiry started?

If it serves you personally I would expect to see an inquiry launched tomorrow.

Bravo!!! Isn't it amazing the stupidity that gets itself elected to Public Office. People who care more about animals ( I love dogs, myself don't get me wrong)than they do about people, care more about "death row" inmates than unborn babies, that will call our President a murderer and choose to sit and wait for another 9/11.

They all went to the same school of "Illogical and Dangerous" thinking as Rosie, Hanoi Jane, George ( I'm gonna save the Africans, but let my fellow Americans die) et al.!

Terrific comment AuntieM. I'm glad you saw it the same way.

I made the post to get those that read here once in a while to think about the BIG picture and not the little things that really mean little to us all.
