GERRY MCCANN VISIBLY STRESSED

MADELEINE FATHER CLOSE TO CRACK UP
By Matt Drake in Praia Da Luz

THE heartbroken father of Madeleine McCann is feared to be on the verge of an emotional breakdown, it emerged last night.

Friends and family are terrified the distress is having a drastic effect on his mental and physical wellbeing.

Over the past month Gerry McCann has had to endure a vicious hate campaign, fuelled by the Portuguese media, which claims he killed Madeleine and dumped her body.

But even during the darkest moments, the 39-year-old hospital consultant has remained a pillar of strength, fighting to protect his family against vile speculation surrounding what happened on the night of May 3.

In recent weeks, however, he has become increasingly frustrated with the hapless police investigation and feels that he can no longer control his life while it remains in a state of limbo.

As he awaits the results of DNA tests which hold the key to clearing his family’s name, cardiologist Gerry has become visibly annoyed with close friends and wellwishers.
