From the information coming into the public domain they do not seem to be progressing for one reason or other! The Minister of Justice in Lisbon should be investigating the handling of the case and maybe that would find out what happened to Maddy.

When a full 'house to house' enquiry has not yet even taken place in the surrounding area, why are the parents going to spend the next few days looking for a villa to live in (paid for out of the 'fund' perhaps?). Surely in the last 5 weeks they should have made a priority of actually searching for their daughter instead of going to endless churches, jazz festivals, balloon releases and creating 'happy family' photo opportunities without Madeleine. No-one seems to be actually out there SEARCHING for that poor little girl.

Anti-death penalty forces have gained momentum in the past few years, with a moratorium in Illinois, court disputes over lethal injection in more than a half-dozen states and progress toward outright abolishment in New Jersey.

The steady drumbeat of DNA exonerations — pointing out flaws in the justice system — has weighed against capital punishment. The moral opposition is loud, too, echoed in Europe and the rest of the industrialized world, where all but a few countries banned executions years ago.

What gets little notice, however, is a series of academic studies over the last half-dozen years that claim to settle a once hotly debated argument — whether the death penalty acts as a deterrent to murder. The analyses say yes. They count between three and 18 lives that would be saved by the execution of each convicted killer.

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL'S FIGURES YOU DECIDE

The reports have horrified death penalty opponents and several scientists, who vigorously question the data and its implications.

So far, the studies have had little impact on public policy. New Jersey's commission on the death penalty this year dismissed the body of knowledge on deterrence as "inconclusive."

But the ferocious argument in academic circles could eventually spread to a wider audience, as it has in the past. "Science does really draw a conclusion. It did. There is no question about it," said Naci Mocan, an economics professor at the University of Colorado at Denver. "The conclusion is there is a deterrent effect."

A 2003 study he co-authored, and a 2006 study that re-examined the data, found that each execution results in five fewer homicides, and commuting a death sentence means five more homicides. "The results are robust, they don't really go away," he said. "I oppose the death penalty. But my results show that the death penalty (deters) — what am I going to do, hide them?"

Statistical studies like his are among a dozen papers since 2001 that capital punishment has deterrent effects. They all explore the same basic theory — if the cost of something (be it the purchase of an apple or the act of killing someone) becomes too high, people will change their behavior (forego apples or shy from murder).

To explore the question, they look at executions and homicides, by year and by state or county, trying to tease out the impact of the death penalty on homicides by accounting for other factors, such as unemployment data and per capita income, the probabilities of arrest and conviction, and more.

Among the conclusions:

• Each execution deters an average of 18 murders, according to a 2003 nationwide study by professors at Emory University. (Other studies have estimated the deterred murders per execution at three, five and 14).

• The Illinois moratorium on executions in 2000 led to 150 additional homicides over four years following, according to a 2006 study by professors at the University of Houston.

• Speeding up executions would strengthen the deterrent effect. For every 2.75 years cut from time spent on death row, one murder would be prevented, according to a 2004 study by an Emory University professor.

In 2005, there were 16,692 cases of murder and nonnegligent manslaughter nationally. There were 60 executions.

SALEM, Ore. — Their faces were everywhere _ first on fliers passed out in their hometown, then on billboards and even on the cover of People Magazine and in constant rotation on CNN.

After months of searching, the bodies of Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis, classmates and fellow dance squad members from Oregon City, were found in August 2002, buried in a sadistic neighbor's backyard. They would have graduated from high school this month.

Now their mothers have joined with other families across the nation who don't know if spouses and siblings are dead or alive to press for passage of laws requiring police to expand their searches in missing person cases.

Their proposal _ which is under consideration by legislators in Oregon, Connecticut, Indiana and New Jersey _ centers on the nearly 50,000 unidentified bodies that are held at morgues across the country while an estimated 105,000 missing persons cases remain open.

Under the bill, police would be directed to send DNA samples from bodies that remain unidentified after 30 days to a central laboratory, where they'd be entered into a national database for comparison to missing-persons cases. Families could submit their own DNA samples for loved ones who have been missing for more than a month.

The parents of missing Madeleine McCann are winding down their highly-publicised world tour to "reflect" on what more they can do to find their daughter.

The last seven days have seen Gerry and Kate McCann, both 38, visit Amsterdam and Berlin, where they were shaken by a suggestion from a German journalist that they could be suspects.

The couple, from Rothley, Leicestershire, are visiting Morocco today – where there was a possible sighting of their daughter two weeks ago – before pausing to take stock. Madeleine's father spoke of the couple's need for time to grieve as they faced the possibility that the four-year-old had been taken by an organised paedophile gang.

"We will not give up, but there will be a different way of doing it," said Mr McCann.

"I can see myself having to go back to the UK to meet with people. It will be very, very hard. We are thinking of the wider issues now, that Madeleine's disappearance might be…linked to organised abuse of children.

"When we get back from Morocco we want to sit back and take stock of what we're doing.

"I think that Kate and I personally, and also family and friends who have been campaigning, will need a break. We'll still meet with the Portuguese police as we have done fairly regularly. "We've made a vow to each other that we would take time for ourselves. The emotional time has been in private.

"When we're making appeals, we don't want anything to cloud that."

Talking from an apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, just yards from where his daughter was snatched, Mr McCann admitted the couple could not continue to block out the pain of the abduction more than a month ago. He said: "There's been a lot of emotion in the last ten days. It's definitely in quieter moments. In the first few weeks when I slipped into dark moments of despair I was finding it quite easy to emotionally switch a light back on, but I've been finding it increasingly difficult to do.

"More importantly I don't want to do that any more – I want to be able to grieve."

Mrs McCann said she had found it particularly difficult to face the media.

She added: "I feel a great deal of anxiety speaking in public, but it pales into insignificance here because nothing can compare to the trauma of losing your child.

"Certainly I find when I am alone I feel a lot of anxiety. When I'm speaking in public it helps take my mind off things.

"I'm not thinking: 'Where is Madeleine? How is she feeling?'

Earlier this week a man telephoned police saying he had information about Madeleine's whereabouts. However, it was revealed yesterday that the call, which was traced to Argentina, was made by a career criminal who had hoped to extort £500,000 from the McCanns.

A third and final report into the death of Bob Woolmer has confirmed evidence that the former England batsman was not murdered, Jamaican police will reveal this week.

The official announcement that Woolmer died of natural causes is expected to precipitate legal action from the Pakistani cricket team against the Kingston-based force. The initial belief that Woolmer was strangled prompted claims that members of the Pakistan team may have been responsible for the death of their 58-year-old coach. Now, Jamaican officers have received all the reports they requested into the cause of Woolmer's death in March. The last of the three pathologists' verdicts into the case was received last Tuesday from a strangulation expert in South Africa. Jamaican police said last Thursday they were examining 'new material' which now appears to corroborate the two earlier reports by pathologists, one from the Home Office, which concluded that Woolmer was not strangled.

Woolmer was found dead in his hotel room in Kingston in March the day after Pakistan were beaten by minnows Ireland in the Cricket World Cup.

Although Mark Shields, the former Scotland Yard officer and deputy police commissioner of the Jamaican police, led the investigation into Woolmer's death, it is understood that he will not be forced to explain why he mistakenly announced a murder inquiry. Instead Lucius Thomas, the head of the Jamaican police force, will explain that Woolmer was neither poisoned nor strangled and that his death was most likely a heart attack. The crucial piece of evidence that pointed to murder was the verdict by Dr Ere Seshaiah, a Jamaican pathologist, that the hyoid bone in Woolmer's neck was broken, a sign of strangulation.

Lots on my mind today. So much to write about. So many things tossing inside my gray matter like popcorn in a popper.

First, Tim Miller and TEXAS EQUUSEARCH will be returning to Aruba to give it one last go to locate missing Natalee Ann Holloway. Tim Miller was a featured guest on Dana Pretzer's Scared Monkey's Radio Show on 6-8-2007. Dana also spoke with Tim Miller about the KELSEY SMITH CASE. Click the above link to listen to the show. Great Job once again Dana! You always ask the right questions and correct follow-ups.

Revealed during the interview, TES will be accompanied by two ships ranging in size from 265 feet to 340 feet. These ships are equipped with state of the art equipment and if Natalee is in the deep water that TES was denied access to two years ago, Tim feels that they will locate Natalee. TES will be on Aruba for approximately 10 days, but that is not a definite. Things may change once TES is re-established on Aruba.

I'm praying, like everyone else, that Natalee is located. There will be some closure.

Let's take it to the next level and wonder out loud what will happen should Natalee be located.

A CRIME will have been committed if Natalee is indeed located in the deep water off the coast of Aruba. She did not put herself in a container and traverse the ocean herself to her final destination. But what crime will have been committed? There is more than ample technological evidence to PROVE that the four main suspects are involved in Natalee's disappearance. There is an overload of cell traffic, text messages and computer records to prove the right people were detained in Natalee's case. Not to forget, Paulus Van Der Sloot was denied his compensation for false arrest due to the fact he was wiretapped and made phone calls on the date he said he was sleeping and had no involvement in Natalee's disappearance. Paulus also admitted TWICE he picked Joran up at 4 AM. Once it was Joran alone, as heard by Claudio Eldridge outside the Van Der Sloot home, on the first night and then he was heard on the wiretap that he picked up NATALEE and Joran at the Palm Beach McDonald's at 4 AM.
Also, Paulus said it was utterly ridiculous that he was detained. Ridiculous INDEED!

Those that played role afterward have not all been identified to date.

Last time I checked the Dutch have a Navy of their own. Why are they not doing anything to locate Natalee in the deep water off of Aruba? Why are the KLPD on Aruba if not to get to the FINAL conclusion that will allow them to charge the suspects with the crimes they were detained on initially? If the Dutch Legal System is reliant on the fact that body does exist to prove a murder, why are they not searching themselves? I am sure the Dutch Navy has all of the same technology that the team TES has assembled will be using. So what gives here? The KLPD are seemingly content to tear up a yard and do a survey on the Kalpoe home in lieu of any heavy lifting. All that did, as far as I can see, is piss off Deepak Kalpoe. I'm for anything that pisses Deepak off, so that was a good thing.

If Natalee is located in the deep water off the coast of Aruba, will the KLPD be able to prove that Joran and Paulus Van Der Sloot and the Kalpoe Brothers are the people responsible for her demise? or will they be unable to link those four to her murder?

At this time, I see no evidence that the KLPD is indeed serious about getting to the bottom of the Natalee Holloway case. If they were serious, they would be re-interviewing the main suspects to clear up the thousands of inconsistencies that have surrounded the case since June 1 2005.

Maybe the KLPD will surprise everyone but Robots who believes the KLPD are gonna slam the door on these slime bags.

Let's move on.

Joran Van Der Sloot gave an interview on Dutch TV. Joran Van Der Sloot continued to lie. He's setting an International record for most lies told in a lifetime. Get out the Guinness. Not BRILLIANT!

Joran Van Der Sloot is apparently feeling no heat from anyone. He writes a book while still a formal suspect and then does a book tour. Who in their right mind does that? No one has ever confused Joran with someone in their right mind.

Joran has told his story so many times, he actually believes it now. It's actually quite ridiculous to believe that Joran has no involvement. He admitted himself he is still the last person seen with Natalee.

Hey Joran, there isn't anymore time to have something bad happen using your own time line. You must think there are some really stupid people out here to believe that we believe anything you have to say. You look more guilty everyday. Keep talking! Please keep TALKING!

Joran blabbered on and on during the interview. He blabbered about the 'missing shoes'. It's is interesting that Joran continues to say that they are 'SHOES' as in plural. It's also interesting that Former Chief of Polis said they were looking for a MATCHING SHOE when draining the pond at the Marriott. Hard to know who to believe here. An admitted liar - Joran Van Der Sloot or a bumbling boob of a Former Chief of Polis - Gerold Dompig. That one is a tough call. I'll still go with Dompig. Dompig is not facing 15 years for being an idiot.

Natalee was drunk and acting crazy. She had a lot to drink, according to Joran. Well, that was the case until Joran miraculously found that he could be charged with rape for digitally penetrating Natalee.

Now Natalee is not drunk and not unconscious. Question? How does a person that has not been drinking and has not been drugged against her will go from a normal state of behavior to in and out of consciousness?

Remember Freddy Zedan Abrambatzis' declaration states that Natalee would not wake up. The suspects panicked and the rest is not known according to Freddy in the recently released PV due to the Kalpoe V McGraw case.

So which is it?

If Natalee is recovered, and I hope to God she is, please beware that the Beach Troll story will be the final chapter. Joran and Paulus have insulated themselves in-case Natalee is indeed found. They have already established so many lies and half-truths that the Dutch Investigators will be left wondering what they are even doing investigating the case. Joran and Paulus have left one person to hold the GUILT.

POLICE LINK MADELEINE PHONE CALL TO MOBILE FROM ARGENTINA

The mystery call that police believe may contain “credible” information on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has been traced to a mobile telephone registered in Argentina.

Detectives hope that the caller may hold the clue to the whereabouts of the four-year-old, who was abducted from the bed of her Algarve holiday apartment 37 days ago.

Kate and Gerry McCann still hope contact can be re-established before tomorrow when they travel to Morocco in the final of a series of visits to raise awareness of their daughter’s disappearance. They will then remain in Portugal, co-ordinating the search for Madeleine.

Although aware of the possibility that their daughter could be dead, they believe it is more likely that they are just one telephone call from having her returned home safely. The couple hoped that such a message had been received on Wednesday when British police told them that a “credible” call had been received by the Guardia Civil in Spain from someone claiming to have information about Madeleine’s whereabouts. Detectives are still investigating the call, which they have discovered was made on a telephone registered in Argentina. They have emphasised that it could have been made elsewhere in the world.

A police source said: “The call came from an unregistered [pay-as-you-go] phone but there was sufficient information to know where it was bought or registered.” Authorities in Buenos Aires are understood to be attempting to trace the owner of a pay-as-you-go mobile registered with an operator in Argentina.

The caller is believed to have demanded to speak to the McCanns and a time was arranged for them to accept the call. The call was considered so potentially significant that the McCanns delayed a trip to Amsterdam, to help police investigate.

POLICE: MISSING BELTON GIRL NOT RELATED TO SMITH CASE

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- In the midst of the Kelsey Smith abduction and homicide investigation, police mentioned another missing teen on Wednesday.

KARA KOPETSKY 17, of Belton, Mo., disappeared on May 4.

Police said they have no reason to believe Kopetsky's disappearance is related to Smith's case. Officers notified the Kopetsky family that the body found on Wednesday was not their daughter before they made a public statement.

It is absolutely heart-breaking that Kelsey Smith has been found murdered. I'll never ever develop a thick skin to it. It happens so often that my email box is over flowing with requests to see if I have a solution to it.

I truly appreciate that so many have written to me to seek my opinion.

First let me tell you that I am just like you. I have no hidden knowledge or education that would allow me to come to a definitive conclusion that will cure this disease. I'm not sure there will ever be a cure.

What happened to Kelsey is not new. We all know that. We also know that Kelsey is the VICTIM. Kelsey's LIFE is over, but the PAIN for her Family is just beginning. What we have witness here has been occuring since before recorded history. CRIME AND PUNISHMENT by Fyodor Dostoevsky comes right to my mind.

I know it's so frustrating. I hear you all and I empathize with you.

As Human Beings, created in God's image, when we take a life in the manner in which Kelsey was killed we are striking out against GOD. Man was given free-will by God to make decisions to enhance or diminish his life. We must all live with the consequences of OUR decisions.

There is no good side to what happened to Kelsey. There is nothing that will ever ease the pain felt by her family.

Sometimes there is a case that brings so many together. Sometimes there is a public out-pouring of love and compassion that it re-vitalizes our own personal faith in man-kind.

As Kelsey is laid to rest, her Parents and Family will have the peace of mind in knowing that she is not going to be missing for eternity.

There are so many people missing in the USA right now that the numbers would probably boggle your mind. 110,000 people are missing either voluntarily or involuntarily.

Jennifer Kesse is one person who is missing involuntarily. Jennifer's Parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, do not know where Jennifer is currently. It's a nightmare that has been on-going since 1-24-2006.

Someone out there has the info needed to end the Kesse Family nightmare. Many of us believe that Jennifer is alive somewhere and we all want her found and returned to the people that love her.
