I haven't been posting the last fews days simply because there is no new info in the cases I follow. I have been spending time trying to get some info on Madeleine. I have spent some time on UK Forums and found some interesting items there. Most is rumor and conjecture and simply not worthy of repeating.

What I do find interesting - no matter what the case, internet sleuths turn on a family in a matter of moments. It would be nearly impossible for the McCanns to know every detail of what happened during their vacation. Should one detail not be confirmed, the internet sleuths immediately assume they are hiding something.

I do not know if the McCanns have anything do to with the disappearance of Madeleine and the Authorities don't either, but the sleuths seem to already know the out-come.

I could give you post after post of people that are linking all kinds of theories to the McCanns and seem content to hang the McCanns based on little more than info gathered from the net. Let's remember the Madeleine McCann case is on day 44 and not day 747 like Natalee Holloway's. Much more is known about Natalee's case and there have been formal suspects, unlike Madeleine's where no suspect beyond Robert Murat has been identified.

There is a lot to learn and as those FACTS become known, perspectives will change one way or the other. It is too early to form any conclusion as to what exactly happened to Madeleine.

Some of the more innocuous tid-bits the sleuths have picked up on are small details that the McCanns seem to remember differently. Even if the memory of the event is whether the sky was cloudy or clear.

There are certainly items that they have found that do need further investigation, but in no way inspire anyone to light the torches and form a mob. The mob mentality is not going to get Madeleine home. Only a competent investigation will.

What is my theory?

I believe Madeleine was abducted by a seasoned pedophile and most likely still alive. I believe that the pedophile had watched the McCanns during their holiday and noticed they seem to leave their children at night while they joined friends for dinner or drinks. During the stay in Portugal, the McCanns did take advantage of a free baby-sitting service during the evening and on the night in question seem to have by-passed a chance at free baby-sitting. Which fuels the conspiracy theorists. I do not know if that is completely true as I have not heard anyone in a position of authority make that claim publicly. It is possible that item is in print and I missed it or I may not remember reading it.

Remember it only takes one moment to abduct a child. It has happened while a parent was in the same aisle as the child in a supermarket and the child appears to have simply vanished.

My assumption at this point is that someone took advantage of the McCanns naiveté. The McCanns admit they were somewhat naive to the ways of the world. It's hard for me to understand how a doctor could not know what the world is all about but that alone does not make him guilty. A seasoned pedophile wants the parents blamed and the search for the child abandoned. In this case the pedophile has accomplished his goal. Very few are looking for the pedophile even though there have been a series of child abductions in the same area over the years.

More info will need to be discovered and confirmed before anyone can truly point the finger at the McCanns.

The scrubland search for missing Madeleine McCann has been called off, following no trace of the four-year-old, police have said.

Police officers searched the area after Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf published an anonymous letter, purporting to contain the location of the girl's body.

Gerry McCann said he was upset by De Telegraaf publishing the letter, saying it should have been passed on to Portuguese police before publication.

Portuguese police are interviewing two Dutch newspaper reporters who have found a towel in the area identified as the possible burial location of four-year-old British girl Madeleine McCann in a tip-off from a Dutch source.

According to their newspaper De Telegraaf, another tip-off has come in from a different source claiming that a man was seen carrying a child wrapped in towels near the place where Madeleine disappeared. Five Portuguese detectives accompanied the Dutch reporters to the spot where they found the towel, followed by a Portuguese TV camera crew.

Letter
It was De Telegraaf which received the anonymous letter containing clues regarding the whereabouts of the missing child. Both Dutch and Portuguese police are taking the letter very seriously, because it seems to have been written by the same person who last year sent a letter providing the exact location of the two murdered Belgian girls Stacey and Nathalie. Shrubland
The letter said Madeleine could be found not far from the hotel room she was abducted from on 3 May this year near Praia de Luz, Portugal. It says that she lies buried "north of the road under branches and rocks, around six to seven metres off the road" in a barren and deserted hilly landscape.

Crosses on a map that came with the letter show the alleged location of her body. De Telegraaf handed the letter over to Dutch police who sent a full colour scan to detectives in Portugal. A full-scale search of the area with sniffer dogs is taking place today.

POLICE searching for Madeleine McCann today started investigating an area of scrubland just nine miles from where she disappeared.

They were following an anonymous tip-off that the four-year-old lies buried under rocks in a barren and deserted area north east of Praia da Luz from where Madeleine was snatched 41 days ago.

The tip-off was sent in a letter to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, giving detailed directions and a map showing where, it claims, Madeleine’s body has been hidden.

There is currently no evidence that Madeleine is not still alive.

The letter said Madeleine was buried "north of the road under branches and rocks, around six to seven metres off the road" in a barren and deserted landscape.

A map came with the letter, with crosses marked on it.

Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa of the Portuguese police said the information was being taken seriously and "everything necessary" was being done to validate the allegation.

"There have been exchanges between Dutch police and us," he said. "The information indicated an area 15km from the place of the disappearance of the little child.

"It is not far from Praia da Luz. We are checking the information like we check everything in this case for importance."

It was thought to pinpoint an area north of Odiaxere, north east of Praia da Luz from where the girl was snatched 41 days ago.

Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa said the information was being taken seriously and "everything necessary" was being done to validate the allegation.

"There have been exchanges between Dutch police and us," he said. "The information indicated an area 15km from the place of the disappearance of the little child.

"It is not far from Praia da Luz. We are checking the information like we check everything in this case for importance."

Meanwhile, Madeleine's family announced that hundreds of yellow ribbons, cuddly toys and messages of support left at a memorial for Madeleine McCann are to be cleared away.

The colourful tributes have been placed around a monument in the centre of the four-year-old's home town of Rothley, Leicester, ever since she went missing 41 days ago.

JENNIFER MEE BACK HOME AFTER RUNNING AWAY

The Florida girl known to the country as "hiccup girl" was found safe and sound Monday, a day after she apparently ran away from home because she was upset at mother and stepfather.

The St. Petersburg Times reported that family members found Jennifer Mee, 15, laying on a park bench crying Monday afternoon, hours after her mother, Rachel Robidoux, reported her missing to police. Robidoux told TODAYshow.com on Monday that Jennifer may have been upset because her cell phone was turned off for non-payment of charges.

"Physically, she's OK. She's just hungry, tired and thirsty," Chris Robidoux, Jennifer's stepfather, told the newspaper.

The mother of the Florida girl treated earlier this year for chronic hiccuping reported the teenager missing to police Monday morning, about 11 hours after she was last seen.

Jennifer Mee, 15, was spotted at a friend’s house between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. EDT Sunday, about 12 hours after she left home without telling anyone where she was headed, her worried mother, Rachel Robidoux, told TODAYShow.com.

“She didn’t tell anyone at home she was leaving,” Robidoux said. “That’s not like her.” Family members circulated fliers and called all of Jennifer’s friends Monday with the hope that she was merely staying away from home because she was upset about something relatively minor that happened Saturday night, Robidoux said.

Jennifer was upset that her cell phone was turned off because Robidoux failed to pay the bill. When the teen left the house Sunday, after Robidoux left for work, Jennifer left the cell phone and her purse behind.

St. Petersburg Police spokesman George Kajtsa said the department is treating Jennifer as a runaway. He said Robidoux reported Jennifer as missing and a presumed runaway at 7:05 a.m. EDT on Monday, and never told the responding officer that Jennifer was upset about her cell phone being turned off.

Police investigating the case of missing Illinois mom Lisa Stebic have relied upon far more than the human mind to help with the search.

The Naperville Sun reports that cadaver dogs used to identify dead bodies have been in the Stebic home, according to Plainfield Police Chief Donald Bennett, and they have made a positive hit.

The Sun reports that sources say that Stebic’s husband, Craig, allowed authorities to bring the dogs in on two occasions before a search warrant was executed at the home May 14. It is not clear whether the dogs made a positive hit on an article of clothing, a piece of furniture, an appliance or another item in the home, the newspaper reported.

Dogs like the ones used in missing persons cases like Lisa Stebic's are trained to identify the scent of decomposing human flesh. The reliability and accuracy of the dogs is judged by how much experience the dog has and the reputation of the trainer.

Lisa Stebic’s case has been classified as a missing persons investigation because she has not used her cell phone or credit cards since she was first reported missing by Craig Stebic almost six weeks ago.
