As I said when the terrible news of Michael's death became known, I would follow this case to make sure that Michael got fair treatment and the case was not railroaded by a sycophant Defense Attorney. It looks like a good start as the Judge is not allowing the typical shenanigans that some Defense Attorneys often try.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) -- A judge Tuesday rejected a defense motion to ban the public and news media from pretrial hearings for a woman charged, along with her husband and son, with murdering a six-year-old Brunswick boy.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for 57-year-old Peggy Edenfield in the abduction, sexual assault and murder of young Christopher Michael Barrios.
Her husband, David Edenfield, and their son, George Edenfield, also face death by lethal injection if convicted of the March 8th slaying.
Peggy Edenfield's attorney, Edward Clary, had filed a motion asking the judge to close his courtroom to reporters and the general public during pretrial proceedings to protect her right to a fair trial.
Superior Court Judge Stephen Scarlett ruled Tuesday that the lawyer failed to show there were no alternatives to ensuring Peggy Edenfield is tried by a fair and impartial jury.
Four media organizations -- The Brunswick News, The Georgia Times-Union, WJXT-TV 4 of Jacksonville, Fla., and The Associated Press -- filed a court challenge to the defense motion.
Police say Christopher was sexually assaulted and choked to death in the Edenfields' trailer across the street from his grandmother's home. He had been missing for a week when police found his body March 15th.

Currently there is not a lot of new info in the Madeleine McCann abduction.
The Portugal Police are under fire for their response or lack there of. As most of you know by now, the Portugal Police developed a composite sketch of the abductor, but refused to release it.
I am not a Law Enforcement Officer, but this seems lacking of real Police skill. I also understand the reason LE did not release the composite. They are fearful that the abductor will kill Madeleine. I do not get any joy from criticizing LE, but if the goal is to find Madeleine, a sketch would certainly be recognized by those that might know the abductor. If LE has a POI, that is always the best place to start.

As the search for three-year-old Madeleine McCann continues, Portuguese police are coming under growing pressure, not only to come up with results, but to release more information about their progress. Early criticisms by family members that the national guard in the nearby town of Lagos were slow to launch the search have since been played down, and the McCanns have thanked all involved for their efforts.
But, after the local polícia judiciária, Portugal's criminal police, took over a case the authorities say is unprecedented in the area, their lack of resources and experience in dealing with the media drew fresh criticism.
By Monday morning, when police had made no comment for almost 48 hours, pressure was mounting not only from the British media, which has descended on Praia da Luz in force, but also from some Portuguese commentators to release more information about progress in the case.

The police are expected to give an update on their investigation at about 1830 BST on Tuesday.
There have been reports on Portuguese state television that a man and a child matching Madeleine's description were seen driving off in a car from the town of Nelas, about 300 miles (483km) north of Praia da Luz.
The channel reported that police road blocks had been set up in the area.
Meanwhile, Manchester United footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, who is Portuguese, said he was moved by news of the little girl's disappearance.
He made an appeal for information about her whereabouts on MUTV, Manchester United's television channel.

Madeleine's Family Send Out Email Poster
The family of missing Madeleine McCann have drawn up a poster to circulate in a chain email to help find the three-year-old.
The 'e-poster' has been composed by Madeleine's aunt, Philomena McCann.
Ms McCann is the sister of Gerry McCann, Maddie's father, and lives in Scotland.
She told Sky News: "If people can help us get Madeleine back that's great. We need to get her back. We must find her. It's not an option to lose her.
"The whole family need her here. We all love children. Gerry and Kate (Madeleine's parents) have devoted their lives to helping others."

LONDON - Three-year-old Madeleine McCann from Rothley, Leicestershire disappeared on May 3 during a holiday with her parents in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. Here is a chronology of developments:
May 3 - The girl goes missing from her bedroom between 9.30 and 10 p.m. while her parents Kate and Gerry are dining just 100 yards away at the Mark Warner Ocean Club holiday resort in Praia da Luz. A window and shutter are open and she is presumed to have been abducted.
May 4 - McCann family members and British media criticise police for what they call a slow initial response, failure to take the disappearance seriously at first, failure to notify ports and borders in time, and failure to secure the crime scene, which may have led to vital clues being lost.
Police say that under Portuguese secrecy laws they are unable to reveal details of the investigation.
Speculation swirls that the kidnapper comes from Britain. One woman says she saw a suspicious character hanging around the holiday flats just a few days before.
May 5 - Police say they have put together a sketch of a suspect and confirm they believe Madeleine is still alive and being held within three miles of the crime scene. Media reports say the sketch is vague and only features the back of a man's head.

KIDNAPPED toddler Madeleine McCann is in the clutches of a paedophile, Portuguese police said last night.
Detectives are convinced the three-year-old is still alive and they believe she is being held in a lair no more than three miles from the luxury holiday apartment where she was snatched from her bed.
A prime suspect has been identified, thanks to more than 30 witnesses contacting police with his description and a desperate hunt to find him was under way yesterday. But detectives were last night refusing to release copies of a sketch of Madeleine’s kidnapper in case he panics for fear of being caught and kills her.

Missing Madeleine's father makes plea for help :: latest
The father of missing three-year-old Madeleine McCann tonight made a fresh emotional plea for help in tracing his daughter.
Following criticism of aspects of how the case had been handled he also expressed the family’s thanks to the police for their efforts.
Appearing before a bank of cameras and a crowd of reporters Dr McCann stood arm in arm with his wife Kate who was again clutching a pink teddy bear as she was last night when the family were first seen in public following the disappearance which police are now treating as an abduction.
Moments before making his statement, Dr McCann appeared first alone before returning to the family’s temporary holiday apartment and re-emerging arm in arm with his wife.
He said: “First of all we would like to thank everyone here in Portugal, the UK and elsewhere for all your support during this extremely difficult time for our family.
“We are pleased that the family liaison officers from Leicestershire are now working closely with the Portuguese Police in keeping us informed.
“We have no further information regarding the investigation but appreciate the significant effort everyone is making on our behalf.
“We would again like to appeal for any information, however small, that may lead to the safe return of Madeleine.
“Finally we would like to thank the media for respecting our privacy especially that of Madeleine’s little brother and sister.”
NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS
I haven't been posting about the Natalee Holloway case for a few days mainly because there has not been any News.
Carpe Noctem and I posted the videos of the major players in the case to give everyone, who did not have the opportunity, a chance to hear them in their own words. We let them speak and I cut out my views. You all have a chance to make up your own minds about the KLPD investigation.
Yesterday I was speaking to a friend about the case and we both have no new info. That struck us as a bit odd. Usually one of us has something new. Neither of us have any info. And neither do you. No one has anything new. You are not alone.
That brought up the point ~ it this good or bad? It was obviously the next line in our conversation.
When the KLPD arrived on Aruba we were all told this would be an investigation conducted in the shadows and there would not be any news forth coming. The KLPD has kept their end of the bargain and they have remained silent.
We reluctantly agreed that this was going to be a good move on the part of the KLPD. There are too many leaks inside the ALE and their alliance seems to be directed toward the main suspects and not JUSTICE.
We all want to know that this investigation is legitimate and only time will tell. So we will all have to wait for any news patiently.
One of the more unsettling aspects of this new KLPD investigation has been that Paulus Van Der Sloot was tipped off that a search was going to conducted at his residence in advance. He was then tipped again that nothing was found at his house. He even made a gloating statement about the tip. I have to hope he is just being his normal boastful self and has not received any info from the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
Everyone is hopeful that this investigation is on the up and up and no one is tipping the main suspects. Again, only time will tell.
